My artwork is about life and the pulse of the American city and its people, expressed in drawings, mixed-media and prints. I've also stretched into photography and video.
I strive to capture glimpses, almost.
These are not your typical over-the-couch skyline scenes. I hope you can smell the city - any city - and feel the pace, the energy and the truths these works attempt to reveal.
I ask the viewer to join me in reflecting upon and questioning:
Urban - fascination with line - frenzied marks - an explosion of glimpses
Shadows - light - busyness - muted palette/scrubbed colors - energy of the landscape
Architecture - vital? - unreachable?
Implied street life - haunting emptiness - senses of place - ambiguity/disorientation - the individual? - the crowd?
Whose perspective? - which rhythm?
